The CERA Global Association (CGA), which grants actuarial organisations the right to award the CERA enterprise risk management credential, is delighted to announce the appointment of Kathy Wong as the new Chair of the Board.
Kathy was part of the group of actuaries that organized the development of the SOA’s Risk Management Section and the SOA’s initial inroads into ERM. She led the development of the first enterprise risk management examinations offered by the organization and served on the task force that created the SOA’s original CERA credential. Kathy has been involved with the CGA Review Panel since its inception, helping to develop the CERA syllabus and serving as an external reviewer beginning in 2009. She is also the Society of Actuaries’ representative to the CERA Treaty Board.
Kathy says, “I am honored to step into the position as Chair of the CGA Board and hope to continue the fine work of my predecessor, Nick Dumbreck. The field of enterprise risk management is increasingly important as the world faces complex emerging and ongoing risks. I look forward to overseeing the CGA’s work in promoting the CERA credential and ensuring it represents the highest professional standards in the global risk management arena.”
