CERA Global Association Bulletin – June 2025

Welcome to the first CERA Bulletin! The CERA Global Association (CGA) is the international body that looks after the CERA credential for its member actuarial associations, through whom the credential is organised. One volunteer from each member association sits on the CGA Board, with the support of a full-time administrator in the UK, and between us we make sure that the high standards CERA credential holders have demonstrated are maintained.

We have recently agreed a new strategy, with four pillars:

  1. Promote Actuaries as Risk Managers. We believe that actuaries are extremely well-placed to act as risk analysts, risk managers and CROs in all sorts of industries. We aim to help this happen.
  2. Enable the CERA qualification. There is nothing else like it – a trans-national qualification only available to people who are already qualified actuaries. We want to ensure that the high standards our predecessors have set are maintained.
  3. Enable service to CERA holders. We now have over 7,000 CERA credential holders. We want to provide them with useful information via Podcasts, conferences and other platforms so that they feel connected to us and each other and so that they can continue to develop.
  4. Run the CGA. It’s important that the basic disciplines of managing the CGA are well-run so that we can continue to flourish.

To support the third pillar especially we have now launched the CERA Bulletin. We’d love to know what you think of it – please email us your feedback or simply fill out the MS Form. And please feel free to share it widely. Look out for more from us in due course.
