Executive VP, Chief Group Actuary and member of the Management Board of Clal Insurance Company Ltd, Tel Aviv, Israel.

Having trained and worked as an Actuary in the UK for 12 years, Ofer joint Clal Insurance in Israel at the end of the year 2000. On top of his position as Executive Vice President and Chief Group Actuary, Ofer is also a member of the Management Board of the company. He held other senior positions within the Clal Group which included being a member of the Board of Directors of the Clal Health Insurance Company and of the UK Broadgate Underwriting Syndicate.

In the last 25 years, Ofer gained an extensive experience in the disciplines of Life, Pensions, Health and P&C insurance, actuarial and risk management work, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, reinsurance and consulting work.

Over the period of 6 years up until April 2011, Ofer served as the President of the Israel Actuarial Association (ILAA). During his presidency, Ofer introduced many changes and reforms in the way the association operated. In particular, Ofer revamped the education and examination system and took an active role in the participation of ILAA as one of the 14 founder members of the CERA Global Association.

Ofer now serves as the Chairman of the Education Committee of the ILAA.

Ofer is a Fellow of the UK Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, a Fellow of the Israel Actuarial Association and a Charted Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA) of the US Society of Actuaries. Ofer holds a B.Sc. from Tel-Aviv University, Post Graduate Diploma in Actuarial sciences from London City University and an MBA from both the Kellogg business school of Northwestern University in Chicago and the Recanati business schools of Tel Aviv University.
