ICA2026 – CGA Panel Discussion

ICA2026 – CGA Panel Discussion

10 November 2026 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm JST

Looking ahead to the International Congress of Actuaries (ICA) 2026 in Tokyo, the CERA Treaty Board is preparing a panel discussion on The Future of the Actuarial Profession.

The panel will bring together current CGA Chair Masaaki Yoshimura (the Institute of Actuaries of Japan), former Chair Kathy Wong (Society of Actuaries), and current Board members Henning Wergen (Deutsche Aktuarvereinigung e.V.), Janette Larney (Actuarial Society of South Africa) and Greg Martin (Actuaries Institute) to share their perspectives on how the profession is evolving and the opportunities that lie ahead for actuaries and CERAs.

The discussion will examine how the CERA credential and expertise in risk management continue to strengthen and expand the actuarial profession. It will also explore the growing influence of actuaries and CERAs in leadership roles, emerging risk areas, and a wide range of career paths beyond traditional actuarial practice.

This promises to be an engaging and thought-provoking session, highlighting the increasing value of actuarial and risk management expertise in an increasingly complex and rapidly changing world.

We look forward to welcoming delegates to this discussion at ICA 2026 and to exploring what the future holds for the actuarial profession.
