Kuei-Hsia Ruth Chu, FCAS. Mrs. Chu graduated from Auburn University USA with a M.S. in the Applied Mathematics, and a B.S. in Mathematics from National Taiwan Normal University, Taiwan. Currently, she teaches as Associate Professor Rank Technical Expert at Feng Chia University, Taiwan, and also serves as the chairperson of AICT ERM committee. She has 10 years of work experience in the US insurance industry, 22 years of work experience at Fubon insurance company, Taiwan and retired on July 1, 2015.
Her many ground breaking accomplishments include: establishing the first non- life actuarial department in Taiwan; being the first female FCAS in Taiwan; elected as the first female president in 2010 of the Actuarial Institute of Chinese Taipei (AICT), since 1970; successfully promoting the CAS Exam 6 (6T) credit in her presidency (2010) of AICT; promoting AICT as one of the Global CERA Award Signatory Status in 2014; selected as the first non-life female actuarial chairman of 18th(2014) East Asia Actuarial Conference (EAAC); chosen as the first non-life female Asian representative of IAA Nominations Committee (2011-2013) and IAA actuarial standard committee (2014-2016).
