Bio Minaz H. Lalani FSA, FCIA, FCA, CERA
Minaz H. Lalani is the managing principal of the Lalani Consulting Group Inc, a niche actuarial and risk consulting firm, specializing in actuarial strategy, enterprise and pension risk management, and non-traditional actuarial practice.
Minaz has been in actuarial and risk consulting for over 34 years including 29 years as principal with Towers Watson, a major international consulting firm. Additionally, Minaz has three years of actuarial, investment and casualty experience with Canada Life Assurance and British United Provident Association while in London, England. Minaz is also an entrepreneur and owns a private venture fund, Eureka Ventures, and serves as a board member on public and private boards.
Minaz has served on a number of Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA) and Society of Actuaries (SOA) task forces and committees and is silver medal recipient for volunteering with the CIA. He was the Chairperson of the SOA Enterprise Risk Management Curriculum Committee and a member of the SOA Pensions Guide for ERM Committee. He currently serves as a member of the SOA Research Executive Committee and CIA Task Force on Canadian Education and Eligibility.
Minaz holds a Bachelor of Science (First Class Honours) degree in Actuarial Science from the City University in London, England. Minaz is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA), Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), and a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA).
